High school student Addison loves the popular Gap Lake series. She even writes a popular fan fiction blog. She is excited when the author contacts her and asks if she would post some of the new book on her blog. Of course she says yes. When a fellow student is found dead that is similar to the book Addison gets nervous and it seems that no one believes her. After a few more incidents happen, Addison knows she has got to get someone to believe her or she will be next. Stephanie Bentley did a great job with the voices of these young characters. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. The writing of this book felt like a debut author. It fell flat for me and it did not keep me intrigued. The ending was also a let down. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. This was good enough that I got through it pretty quickly, but was a "stupid heroine gets in scary situation and is too dumb to go to the authorities' story. There were a couple of saving graces, however. 1) Addison, the heroine, is only a high school student, so the fact that she makes foolish choices is kind of understandable. 2) The characters are sufficiently well drawn that I was willing to ride it out to the end. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I enjoyed the concept of this story, but it needed a bit more character development. I didn't guess the "who done it" until near the end when the author hinted at it. I think this would be a hit with more of a teen audience which is what it is probably intended for. Not sure if I would read more by this author, but when my daughter hits the teen years I may suggest she try one. I would definitely listen to more books read by Stephanie Bentley she did a fantastic job! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

This isn't great. I'm not enjoying the writing or the characters. It's a shame because the premise would probably have lots of appeal.
