It was a very interesting book. Not something I would have read naturally but there was a lot of suspends that made it a page turner. I would love to know if there's a second book. ( )

As I found out when I began reading, The Brazen Woman (The Emerald Scarab) is book 2 in a series. I wish I had read the first book as I would have appreciated the backstory references and the importance of the scarab Elise carries with her. Yes, they say it's the key to world peace, but how? I was never able to shake the feeling of walking in to a story midway and my many unanswered questions kept me from enjoying the writing which was good. ( )
