Understanding more of God's character and how he loves us changed bestselling author Holley Gerth's life in beautiful, powerful ways. She realized that she didn't have to settle for "I'm fine" when there was someone whispering to her in every moment, "You're mine." The hope, joy, peace, and purpose she longed for were already there, in the heart of God. Now in 52 devotional readings, Holley shares with women the answer to the restlessness they feel in their hearts that keeps them hurrying, striving, pushing. She shows them that "the God who scattered stars like diamonds across the velvet of the universe, the keeper of every sparrow, the maker of us all, is inviting us to draw closer to him. He is the place where our hearts can go on the hard days and the happy ones, in the highs and lows, when we are sad or frustrated or downright giddy. He is what we've been searching for all along."… (mehr)

In a little book of fifty-two devotional readings, Holley Gerth delivers necessary reminders of God’s character and His great love for His beloved people. They are quick, yet purposeful, a great way to start a new day.

I truly enjoyed my time with Hope Your Heart Needs. Gerth has a way of writing that feels cozy and warm, like I am spending time with a dear friend. While she does not dive super deep, her devotional readings nevertheless reference biblical truths in meaningful ways and prove invaluable for remembering what can be too easily forgotten. I recommend Hope Your Heart Needs.

Thanks to Revell Reads, I received a complimentary copy of Hope Your Heart Needs and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )

As always, Holley Gerth speaks to my heart and soothes my mind with her Biblical words of comfort.

This book has 52 encouraging devotionals that you could either do once a week, to last out the year, or do one a day (which I am doing) to help you remember who you are in God. Each day starts with a Scripture and then the devotional is written from Holley's heart to yours. She encourages, uplifts, and makes you feel as though you are talking to your best friend over coffee. Finally, there is a promise of who God is for us in our lives.

Holley has experienced the same type of heart-aches that all of us do and she shares how God has given her strength during the hard times. I love that she reminds us that it's okay not to be okay all the time but that God is with us through it all.

I highly recommend this devotional, as I have all of Holley's books. She never disappoints and she always keeps things true to the Word of God. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

With 52 devotionals, this little book makes for a great start to your morning and an easy routine to keep. Each one begins with a scripture followed by a short devotion and closes with a prayer. Life is challenging for all of us in different ways. By understanding who God is, we can face those challenges head on and not with an “I’m fine” attitude but with hope. I look forward to starting my morning off with words that encourage and these devotions do just that. Holley has labeled each devotion with a characteristic of God. It was a simple reminder throughout the day about who HE is and how HE loves us. This would make a great gift for any woman in your life – especially yourself!

*Thank you to Revell for my copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.* ( )

I have to be grated to my dear neighbor, who finding out I’m into reading/reviewing Christian books, loaned me her copy from her KINDLE.

I’ve always been a rather voracious book reviewer of a very wide spectrum of genres from picture books for the youngest of reader all the way to a which I rather not mention here. But lately, with an increased passion for this type of book, I’m quickly reading through a book in order to write my review and get unto another book from my TBReviewed pile or another Christian book. It took me 1 ½ days to read this book and here is my honest review.

After reading through this book I feel the best way for others to enjoy the most and make it more rewarding than it is, would to be read each chapter one week at a time, with the best being the first thing each Sunday Sabbath morning. Why this day? The answer can be found in:

King James Bible Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The author, Holley Gerth, each of her 52 chapters concerns some particular characteristic which the Lord has [some we’ve might have forgotten or never have realized] or likewise about a truth of who/what he is. Each chapter begins with a biblical citation befitting what we’re about to read, and reading each chapter I feel it’s best for her readers to meditate on what they’ve read before offering the heartfelt prayer at the end of each chapter.

In writing this book, Ms. Gerth, wants her reader’s lives to be changed similar to the way her life has been transformed in much as in the manner which is depicted in:

New International Version Deuteronomy 30:6
The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.

And for wanting to do this for all of her readers, Ms. Gerth has gotten 5 STARS from this reviewer. ( )
