The Ultimate Collection (as produced in 2002) is a large double skinned cardboard box with a rimmed lid displaying a photograph of the space station, protected by an acetate sheet, set within a cut-out recess. When removed it allows the front side to drop down revealing a full list of the contents, as well as easy access to the individually packaged DVD sets. The first five series or the original series, and of Crusades being packaged in cardboard covered flip book style packaging, all others either in stand alone plastic jewel cases, or further grouped into movie box sets and bundled together in an outer cardboard slip case.
All in all a very presentable and sturdy boxed set. The set has since been repackaged as a 2/3 size set with an additional DVD not avaliable at the time 'The Lost Tales'.
