"The Right Swipe is everything you want in a Summer read: fun, clever, and so, so sexy." -- Popsugar Alisha Rai returns with a sizzling new novel, in which two rival dating app creators find themselves at odds in the boardroom but in sync in the bedroom. Rhiannon Hunter may have revolutionized romance in the digital world, but in real life she only swipes right on her career--and the occasional hookup. The cynical dating app creator controls her love life with a few key rules:  - Nude pics are by invitation only  - If someone stands you up, block them with extreme prejudice  - Protect your heart  Only there aren't any rules to govern her attraction to her newest match, former pro-football player Samson Lima. The sexy and seemingly sweet hunk woos her one magical night... and disappears.  Rhi thought she'd buried her hurt over Samson ghosting her, until he suddenly surfaces months later, still big, still beautiful--and in league with a business rival. He says he won't fumble their second chance, but she's wary. A temporary physical partnership is one thing, but a merger of hearts? Surely that's too high a risk...… (mehr)

This was a really fun refreshing read.

I really loved the author's take on the ambitious female character. Unlike what we're used to from said characters, Rhi is kind hearted and very smart and in touch with her feminine side.

I enjoyed going through this book, though I was annoyed when we got to that whole "Storming out without actually hearing the other person out" scene.
It's actually the reason this book lost a star, I just cannot stand that trope!!
Though I did like how Rhi handled the whole thing afterwards, especially sharing her story on live TV.
It took a lot of courage for her to do so, and you could feel her inner turmoil throughout the whole thing. I really liked how the author wrote that part.

All in all this was a really fun read and I'm glad I picked it up. ( )

What a ride that was. I really enjoyed this book a lot. It reminded me of "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne in that the main female character was a strong willed, career driven woman who truly didn't need a man, but had a compassionate, vulnerable side that opened her up to a deep romance. Surprisingly, there was more discussion regarding football in this book than I expected, but not in a daunting way that would turn away a reader who isn't necessarily interested in the sport. In fact, it was interesting that Alisha Rai included current issues within the football world while also touching on problems with the modern dating scene. Also, Samson was the whole package wrapped up in a bow. I love a strong male character that can also be vulnerable, caring, protective and all together a good, heart-warming person, with a hint of inner conflict. I absolutely recommend this book to my fellow contemporary romance lovers, any sports fans and to readers looking for relatable content regarding the crazy world of online dating. ( )

When we met Rhiannon in Hurts to Love You, I instantly wanted her book. Well, here it is and I am on Cloud 15 about it. Alisha Rai excels at giving characters a rich backstory, clear (if confusing to the characters) motivation, and just the right amount of conflict. I thought it was important given the inner turmoil of both love interests that Rai turned down the relationship angst a bit. They were both dealing with their own stuff and while it definitely impacted their romance, it was important that they each get to a place of peace on their own, too.
Essentially, Rhi gets an arc, Samson gets an arc, and their relationship gets an arc. Everyone grows and changes and I can believe this is an HEA what will last. Samson is the kind of man who is big and strong but also a giant marshmallow. He is a literal caretaker, having been by his uncle's side during the last weeks of his life. Rhi has been hurt in the past, including some emotional abuse and a lot of harassment by a terrible man who owned the company she used to work for. So she has trust issues and I don't think I would have believed their HEA if she hadn't worked them out a little independently of him. She's also totally badass and brilliant.
The secondary characters were lovely and complicated. I'm so excited to hear that Katrina gets the next book because she deserves an HEA.
Okay, you get the picture. I loved this book. ( )

Rhiannon Hunter has succeeded as CEO of her own company due to advances she made in the technology of computer dating. Working with the nephew of a rival company was never part of her marketing plan, but the real surprise is that Samson Lima who ghosted her after a one night stand has been a fun partner in making the videos that will be used as advertising for both companies. When Samson's aunt decides to sell her company, Rhi is determined to be the one to buy it, but competition from a former lover and his company put her plans in doubt.

On the surface, The Right Swipe seems like an average romance. The chemistry between the characters is weak, but addressing issues involving members of Samson's family that have died from CTE and the sexual harassment that Rhi faced under her former boss, raise this book to a level above the norm. Harassment has made Rhi suffer trust issues in both her personal and business lives and Samson has had trouble moving on after losing so many people that he loves, showing some of the effects of these serious problems. Overall, The Right Swipe does a good job of addressing issues but the romance falls a bit short. ( )
