THE MAGIC FACTORY: OLIVER BLUE AND THE SCHOOL FOR SEERS (BOOK ONE) tells the story of one very special boy, Oliver Blue, different than those around him and unloved by his hateful family. Obsessed with inventions, Oliver is determined to escape his horrible life and make his mark on the world.

When Oliver’s family moves again, to another awful house and school, he is bullied and excluded, and sees no way out. But when he stumbles across an abandoned invention factory, he wonders if this could be his way out. Who is the mysterious old inventor hiding in the factory? What is his secret invention?

And might this factory be a portal to somewhere else?
I love fantasy books especially Morgan's rice, morgan rice's books are the type of work you never forget. Now back to the book. I loved the plot. And i am going to read all the books in this series soon. I checked on google "how many books are there in the series" and i was kinda disappointed that there are total 4 book. I want more. I know that of course that there are no more book. But i am still hopeful. Till that time i am reading the Orb of Kandra ( )

Oliver Blue is an eleven year old boy who doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere. At school he is bullied by other students and even his own brother. At home his parents have no affection for him, and his brother seems to run the family through his bullying of Oliver and kissing up to his parents. In the two bedroom house they move to, Oliver has an alcove off the front room for his sleeping area and place to keep his few belongings.

Oliver is obsessed with inventions and the sciences involved in creating them. His dream is to become a well-known inventor by inventing something that would benefit the world. He had an old book of inventors that he read and re-read. Armando Illstrom was his favourite inventor.

The only good thing about the family’s recent move was Armando’s old factory was in the town. While coming home from school one day, Oliver finds an abandoned invention factory and is fascinated by it. It is Armando’s and it is rumoured that an old and strange man named Armando lives in it. Oliver finds a way in and meets his idol. Offering to work around the factory Oliver gets to know Armando a little better and visa versa. One thing Oliver finds is that Armando’s assistant instantly takes a dislike to Oliver and is out to get rid of him by sabotaging or taking credit for anything Oliver does or works on.

Things do get better and Oliver finds a place and people he does fit in with. There is fantasy and magic in the plot. This is the first in a kids’ fantasy series.

I started this book some time back, but put it down because it seemed every time Oliver turned around there was a bully to deal with. I did pick it up and finish it. For me it is the only one in the series I’ll read. I’m not a big fantasy fan and the abundance of bullies put a damper on it. ( )
