Basically the short story is the detailed narration of the two scenes in which Kale and Ian are involved. They are particularly boundaries pushing, and where some 'kinky' play I have already read before (wax and similar), some other were quite new (medical techniques turned in sex games... don't know if I personally would have liked to be involved in them...). Anyway it's not Ian who pushes Kale, it's Kale who asks for more, and so, if he is willing, it's all right. I think that Kale is trying to overcome his disability trying to feel more with all his other senses. Maybe I felt Ian a bit detached, but he is really caring with Kale, also and above all, before and after their games. He takes care of him, and he is sweet and tender.

For being a short story, it has quite a lot on course, and even if not all the past and the reason of the main characters are developed, it's said enough to be not only a way to read of kinky sex. And above all, I'm always interested to see how disability is dealt in a romance, and I think that this time it was done in a nice way.

I have enjoyed almost everything I've read by Mychael Black and Shayne Carmichael. Their work is very sensual, and quite often includes bondage and submission. Many of their stories are also paranormal romance. While this hot little story has no werewolves or angels, it does throw a wrench into the sometimes cliche world of BDSM.

Onyx introduces Kale, a submissive with a very unique characteristic - he's blind. A lot of BDSM focuses on heightening the senses through pain, discipline, sight/sound deprivation, etc. So, a blind submissive seems a natural fit for exploring such things at a new level. Plus it's nice to see some diversity beyond the perfect, flawless adonises readers usually encounter. Kale isn't perfect, but he may just be the perfect sub! Ian is a dom who has nearly given up on finding a responsive sub. He finds more than he hoped for in Kale. Though this hints at a possible romance, the main focus is how these two practically set fire to your screen with their scenes. Though this is brief, Black and Carmichael pack a lot into these pages and I want more of Kale and Ian. Highly recommended for BDSM or erotic romance fans! ( )
