So I realized this is the final volume. Still, I was able to piece together the story without having read the others. Even with that, some of the conclusions felt rushed. Kwang-Ho's whole arc was confusing.

Now, Superman's warring with two sides was very interesting, and I liked Kenan's struggle with it. I would've liked to see more of the Alpaca/Joker character.

So I was a victim of circumstance...of my own making. I picked this book from the library new graphic novel shelf without looking at the back cover. Then I snatched it up without a back-up book in pocket as I set out for my dog's daily walk. (What, you don't read graphic novels as you walk so as to keep nature safely at bay and fill the endless and countless sniffing and peeing pauses?)

So what I thought was a stand-alone story quickly revealed itself to be the concluding arc of a DC New Super-Man series that got canceled after two dozen issues and a last-minute name change. I had read none of the previous issues. and my first thought was to abort, but I knew the dog would be loathe to turn around and let me swap it out when he had just achieved the high point of his day, For his sake, I waded through what turned out to be a pretty standard superhero team book despite the Chinese cast and setting. There was some team conflict, a little soap opera romance, a new foe (or is he friend?), and battles with another generic superhero team and even evil doppelgangers. Ho-hum.

At least the dog had a good time... ( )
