It kept me guessing the entire book and there were times that I said “holy shit” due to the bombshell that was dropped in the book. This book kept me engaged and absolutely love how the writer told the story, alternating between Vivian and Gillian. This might be my new favorite WWII novel, due to the vivid storytelling. Highly, highly recommend this book! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Rattled by the discovery, Gillian attempts to unravel the truth behind the photos, setting her off on an epic journey through the past... 1939. Historical fiction isn’t my favorite, but I loved the last book I read by this author so I gave it a shot. It’s just not my cup of tea, and the pacing felt off. Sometimes it’s thrilling to guess the plot twist before it happens, but in this case it happened early on and I kept waiting for anything more exciting. And while there was another twist I didn’t predict precisely, it wasn’t earth shattering. It’s not a bad book, but it wasn’t the best for me personally. ( )
