I just can't feel any love/romance when there is abuse between the main characters. ( )

So dark! This book was so cruel to Cosima, I hope she returns as a beast in the next one. ( )

DNF, I couldn't get past the first two chapters. I really couldn't stand the main character, one minute she is subservient the next defiant and it just was really not cohesive. I have not really had a DNF I usually push through, and that isn't to say this book isn't for someone else, it just really was not for me. ( )

Giana Darling became a new favorite author for me after her fallen men series so obviously i was super hyped to read her new one. And well, holy saint of everything dark this was a wild ride.
Definitely going into this one with the right mind space because it's hella dark and twisted. But if you love kinda-mafia dark forbidden romances, or if you love dark shit.. well pick this one immediately. ( )

Sweet Holy Hell

I knew when I read the Twin Trilogy that there was something special about Cosima and Alexander. What I didn't know was how special it would be. After finishing this book, I am left in awe and wishing I could just skip the month of April and go right to May so that I can have the next part of their story.

This story is filled with deceit, secrets, pain, and suspense. Yet, it also is filled with a maelstrom of emotions, vulnerability, eventual trust, and love. In summation, it is sublime bliss. The steam is off the chart. Even in pain there is pleasure and beauty and both Cos and Xan walk that fine line of showing how easy it is to teeter on the precipice of the abyss. These two were truly the epitome of dual flames.

The characters were some of the best that I have read, and I read A LOT, which made them even more dynamic and endearing. The storyline was heartbreaking and yet beautiful. It reminded me not everything is as it seems. I look forward to what comes next and to finding out how the story concludes.

This is most definitely in the best of 2019 collection. ( )
