But I decided to stick with the series and I'm glad I did as I enjoyed this volume a great deal. I think generally Brian K Vaughan's series are a slow burn, taking their time in telling their stories and giving depth to their characters. honestly im p underwhelmed. there's been so much plot, and the teensiest bit of char dev, but shockingly little dev of: the universe/setting, the mechanics of time travel, the principal relationships, and any sense of cohesion or continuity within the plot i get that the authors have a cool take on time travel, and its all rly fucking confusing for the audience in the same way it is for the principal chars, but they keep showing us snippets of goings on elsewhere in the world that generally tend to make the picture more confusing, more obscured. they're trying to get us to care abt various auxiliary chars but refuse to show us WHY the diff moments or diff chars matter so much time is spent developing the beats of their next wacky excursion thru a time period that could instead b spent fleshing out what these relationships mean to the central chars, how they expect to live a normal life after returning to their present; why haven't any of them had a real breakdown and had to confront the horror and complexity of what theyre experiencing? exactly how is the "teenagers" "time activism" supposed to have helped anyone? does this conflict have ANY deeper significance to our main chars? im sure these r all things that the authors have planned out long-term. but honestly theyre taking their time for no goddamn reason. its slow and confusing w little to no satisfaction or depth but ill keep reading i suppose, mainly bc i do think the authors have a genuinely interesting idea of time travel; and obvi im here for the queer rep THAT THEY HAVE BEEN UNCOMFORTABLY TEASING SINCE ISSUE 1 Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
