He is told his father is across the bay, he decides to go attempt to find him, which he does not. Nothing unusual happens to him, and he returns home. ( ) I wanted to like this book more than I did. However, I had two glaring problems with it 1.) A kid goes off by himself and it hardly seems to faze anyone. That's not even realistic! It drove me nuts. 2.) The depiction of "white" people really bothered me. It was the one picture devoid of color. Which seemed, in a way, to bash white culture. We have color in our lives as well. And I think it is important to have that. This story is about a boy looking for his father he travels far and eventually loses the picture of his father, after getting advice from a stranger he decides to travel back home and spend time with the people that hadn't left, his mama and nana. This could be used to show the student that they aren't alone with a parent/loved one leaving but to find the good in situations. Good for ages 2nd-3rd keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
