Following on from the excellent Storm Keeper's Island, I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed by this book. There was no recap so it was hard to get into having read the first book a long time ago, and it took me quite a while to pick up the threads of who people were and the story of each of their histories.

Young Fionn Boyle is the new Storm Keeper of Arranmore island, an inherited position; not one he has chosen for himself. As well as constantly warring with his older sister, Fionn does not seem to have fully come into his island magic and is worried about how he can protect the island, especially when thousands of frightening Soulstalkers start to arrive on the island. With his grandfather's health waning, Fionn needs the help of his friends Shelby and Sam... but will they be enough to banish the Soulstalkers from Arranmore.... ( )
