I just love this book! In fact, I am now a fan of Cory Q Tan's writing. The story is about a very rude and pessimistic teddy bear named Theodore, who just hate the Chows. But when one day, the Chows go away and don't return, Theodore realises his mistake and goes on a search for his family.
The illustrations were awesome. The story is mixed with right amount of humour and adventure. The story teaches a great lesson that family and love are the most important things in the world, no matter whether you hate them or love them. I would recommend it for both children and adults because it teaches a great value to the children and it awakens the child inside every adult. ( )

This was my first book I've read by Cory Q. Tan and I loved it! The illustrations were adorable and it has such a cute yet important message! Theodore starts out very ungrateful and rather unpleasant, constantly complaining about everything and everyone around him. However, when left alone he realizes how important his family is and does all he can to be reunited with them. Adorable! ( )

This is the second book I have read by Cory Q Tan and once again I am slightly disappointed by the story. It always starts of as a simple story following the main character, and then the story just goes in a weird direction. The book follows the story of Theodore who is a stuffed bear living in the Chow household. He is unhappy how the family treats him (basically as toy, shocking!) and he is excited to find the family leaves the house one day. He tells all the other toys and the family dog to leave him alone and let him be. But of course, he begins to miss the Chow family and sets off on a journey to find them. I feel as though the story should have ended there with the return of the Chow family, but that wouldn't be like the author to do. *SPOILER* It was a little unsettling to find that the family had run off the side of the rode (unharmed) when the Mr. Chow fell asleep. His little adventure to find them was cute but the finding of the family was just unnecessary. His illustrations were beautiful but I feel as though the author lost the overall concept of the storyline. ( )

This is an awesome book to teach children about character traits. It shows how the main character changes throughout the story. It could also teach you how you can wish for something so long that it may come true and you realize that it is not what you really wanted. ( )

I won this book on librarythings. I really liked the illustrations. The story isn´t your typical teddy bear story, which is good. The story is about theodore who is ungrateful of his family, but after an accident, he realised how good he actually had it.
This story is approved by my inner child. ( )
