Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch. graphic nonfiction (originally published in French) it really is an art, with extreme attention to detail (from keeping parasites out of your food, to humanely killing and preserving the freshness of the fish, to making the perfect vinegared rice, to selecting a sake that best complements your dish, and so on) with the end result being a supreme bite of deliciousness (and a few bites that are definitely an acquired taste). Very readable and incredibly absorbing.

I was surprised that I stayed engaged with this travelogue about the world of sushi preparation in Japan and France, even through all its digressions into ceramics, rice farming, sake production, and knife making. The love of the subject matter shines through the author's narration, and even though I'd never put them in my mouth, the examples of sushi presented are colorful and gorgeous.
I need to check out the author's other book on chocolate, because that I eat. ( )
