"The next heartwarming and inspirational Christmas story by USA Today Bestselling author, Nancy Naigle. Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Angels Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it's set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair. When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories. While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother's collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance-that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt-and the residents of Angels Creek-be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?"--… (mehr)

Browsing the internet one evening, Liz finds some property about to be auctioned that seems to be her grandparents former inn. With no chance to do any inspections, she bids on it, and wins. But when she arrives at her dream inn she discovers it is really a nightmare. Years of neglect and some slipshod renovations have left it in shambles. Wondering if she had made a drastic mistake by sinking her life savings into the place, that feeling is intensified when she breaks her ankle in the snow. But someone comes to her rescue in the form of a handsome handyman, a contractor who was also interested in the inn, and is now more than a little interested in its new owner. A sweet romance develops, and Liz also discovers the many likable townsfolk who go to great lengths to make her feel welcome. This well-written Christmas romance will definitely leave you with a smile on your face and a good feeling inside. ( )

What a sweet story! He's had a crush on her since they were little, she doesn't remember him but all she wants is to bring back the happy memories from her childhood. I'd love for this to be a series, I want to find out more about the people in Angels Creek!

Nancy Naigle has a wonderful way of writing sweet Hallmark-like stories. They are sweet and filled with kind, generous characters and no villians in sight. In this story, Liz is a successful business woman but has no real life outside of work. Growing up, she would visit her gradparents at their Angels Rest Inn. Now, she see the in is up for auction and bids on it blindly - not knowing what she might be getting into.
Matt has always lived in town and remembers the time when Liz would visit her grandparents. He also was interested in restoring the inn and when he meets Liz he is determined to help her bring it back to it's original glory days. The question is, can Liz turn her back on the big city for a childhood dream of the Angels Rest?
The whole town adopts Liz as one of their own and together, they bring back the Christmas Light drive through tradition. Liz and Matt are wonderful characters that you can't help but fall in love with and when they fall in love it makes the Happily Ever After even better.
I received an advanced copy of this book. ( )

Thank you in advance to JustRead tours and the author for a review copy. A positive review was not required and all words are my own.

If you’re not into the “Hallmark”-esque movies, then this isn’t a book for you. It is a clean read, clean romance which means there is not much more interaction beyond kissing, holding hands – those things. There are some “Christian” elements, but the author isn’t preachy in her tone.

This is my first introduction to author Nancy Naigle. I LOVE a good, clean romance. I LOVE Christmas stories even more. And, when this was released in October, I HAD to have it. I could tell by the cover and the description this was a book I was going to LOVE!

The premise of this book is so cute!

“Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents’ inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there, she finds the property in significant disrepair.

While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Antler Creek—be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?”

The cover is darling! Almost instantly I want to run off with it and curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and spend every moment I had with this book.

This book definitely has a “Hallmark" movie vibe about it – in a good way, complete with a small town with the cutest name – Antler Creek. You can almost close your eyes and hear/see it as it moves along. And, even one of the characters makes a “Hallmark Movie” remark in it. There are references to Hallmark in it. But, that didn’t detract from this cozy read.

I love how positive Liz was, despite the warnings from her co-worker about buying it sight unseen, and even after seeing the disrepair – still held out hope. There are some sad moments after the “accident”, but she had friends who wouldn’t let her give up.

It is a true “you know who your friends are when you face adversity” scenario with an honest “small town” scenario.

Not every character is perfect; then again, no real person is either. The characters are written like some people I’ve known and been around. Obviously the good/bad equal each other out.

The characters are real for the geographic area, and I could almost picture the town in my mind with the writer’s vivid writing style.

This is a simple little "feel-good" read for the holidays. ( )

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is an endearing novel of love and new beginnings.

Liz Westmoreland's fondest memories are the times she spent at her grandparents' lodge. Despite her lucrative career, she dreams of owning a bed and breakfast. In a moment of serendipity, Liz gets the opportunity to bid on her grandparents' property when it is unexpectedly up for auction. After winning the auction, Liz travels to Antler Creek where she delighted by the townspeople's welcome and offers of assistance.

Since Liz purchased her grandparents' lodge sight unseen, she is unaware of the changes made to the property over the years by different owners. She is filled with doubts when she realizes how much work the lodge will need before she can open for business. But despite her trepidation, Liz is not willing to give up on her dream just yet. Luckily she has a town full of hardworking residents who are eager to help her return the lodge to its former glory.

Matt Hardy also bid on the property but he is not at all resentful when he meets Liz. He entertains fond memories of her from their childhood and he is quick to step in and assist Liz during her renovations. Unbeknownst to Liz, Matt's feelings run deeper than friendship but he is careful to keep his hopes for a future with her to himself. With quiet determination, Matt lends his expertise while nurturing their connection but will Liz fall in love with him?

Both Liz and Matt are wary of becoming involved with one another. Matt's previous relationship with someone from the city ended badly and he is in no hurry to repeat his mistake. Liz's future is uncertain since she has no idea how successful the lodge will be after opening for business. But with an easygoing friendship quickly developing between them as they spend time together, will Liz and Matt decide to explore their growing feelings for each other?

Christmas Angels is a warm and inviting romance with a lovable dog, a wonderful cast of characters and an idyllic setting. Liz and Matt's relationship is sweet yet understated. Although their romance is mostly drama free, conflict arises very late in the story due to a misunderstanding. Fans of wholesome romances are sure to enjoy this cheerful and uplifting holiday story by Nancy Naigle. ( )
