In one of the most engaging Christian books I've read in months, Anne Graham Lotz discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. Drawing heavily from Scripture and relating life experiences to which the reader can relate, she examines the Spirit's role as a constant companion and takes us through the roles Scripture gives to this part of the Trinity. She encourages readers to spend time in the Word and in prayer. I will seek other books by Lotz to use in my devotional times as I appreciated her writing style. ( )

Anne Lotz explores the personal and practical implications of seven aspects of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer, including His presence, purpose, power, and provision.

After reading this book I now understand why Anne Graham Lotz is considered such a great author and speaker. She has been able to help me understand The Holy Spirit in a way that I never had before. I have been a Christian for many years but I still had questions about this third part of the Trinity. Lotz uses her battle with cancer and her overwhelming assurance that The Holy Spirit is always with her to better explain this amazing presence in our own lives.

Jesus in Me It has twenty-seven chapters that have been divided into seven parts and the first part is devoted to the names given to The Holy Spirit. He is known as our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby and we are shown why He has these names. The other six sections deal with His presence, power and purpose and Lotz truly enlightens with her understanding and knowledge. She reminds us that whether we are a new believer or a mature Christian, we can deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ by better understanding the Holy Spirit. This book is perfect for personal bible study but it would also be a wonderful resource for a group study.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Multnomah and a positive review was not a requirement. These are my own thoughts. ( )

This book is such a wonderful book that explains the Holy Spirit and how He lives in us and helps us in every aspect of our life. Anne explains how He is Our Helper, Our Comforter, Our Advocate, Our Intercessor, Our Counselor, Our Strengthener, and Our Standby. She explains how each attribute guides us and helps us in our life.

She shares about the death of her husband and how that Holy Spirit comforted her in her grieve. She also shares her cancer story and this was especially timely for me as I have recently been diagnosed with cancer. Finding out how the Holy Spirit guided her and comforted her each step of the way, was such an encouragement.

I really love how Anne always backs everything up with Scripture and how she explains the Scriptures in a way that is easy to understand. It was really a pure joy to learn more about the Holy Spirit and to understand what a gift He is to us from Jesus. He is always waiting to help us and that is such a wonderful gift from God!

I can't recommend this book enough! It has changed the way I understand about the Holy Spirit and has given me such comfort and joy in knowing all He does for me. This would be a wonderful book for anyone to read. I give it 5 stars.

*This book was provided to me by Waterbrook Multnomah. I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this book. ( )

This book resonated with me on so many levels, I would read a chapter and then the same message would be spoken at church, and then it often followed me on social media.
The author points out with so many examples throughout this read how the Holy Spirt has been there for her, and when you begin thinking about it, I realized that yes, I could come up with my own examples.
The author made each chapter very personal, and they are short, but they stick with you and each gave me a greater understanding of The Holy Spirit.
I think personally I remember meeting Him when I was ten, and making my Confirmation, at that time we called him “The Holy Ghost”, but he has been real to me ever since.
A book that you won’t be disappointed in, and I know it enriched me!

I received this book through the Publisher Waterbrook Multnomah, and was not required to give a positive review. ( )
