This book was just so cute and for that i a giving it four stars. It was just a sweet read and one that was cozy read. I think that was mix of both the characters and also the winter setting. It also did dea with much deeper topics like "conset" and friendship but it also focused so heavily on found family elements and gave me massive winter vibes!! Such a great weekend on a cold day!! This book is extremely charming. The characters are gentle and pleasant, and it would be a perfect read aloud, or as an early independent reading book for a child starting in on chapter books. It's certainly reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh, and I enjoyed it very much. ( )

Narrated with gentleness and proper quirkiness, this novel follows Duane the polar bear and his friends C.C. the snowy owl, Handsome the musk ox, Magic the arctic fox, Major Puff the puffin, Twitch the hare, and Boo the shy caribou. Cute black and white illustrations add personification and context occasionally. Duane learns about himself and his friends in this slow, but warm story of discovery. ( )
