This is a very short book with two dialogues on the philosophic problem of the nature of knowledge. Of the two, the second one was, for me, the most interesting and enlightening: it is a dialogue between Feyerabend and a student; it seems to encapsulate Feyerabend's thinking about his work, as well as his critical stance in relation to philosophy, the sciences (and scientific knowledge) and life. It seemed to me a lot less radical than I had expected, but then I had never read Feyerabend before. Maybe I should continue now... ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

The Socratic, or dialog, form is central to the history ofphilosophy and has been the discipline's canonical genre eversince. Paul Feyerabend's Three Dialogues on Knowledgeresurrects the form to provide an astonishingly flexible andinvigorating analysis of epistemological, ethical and metaphysicalproblems. He uses literary strategies - of irony, voice anddistance - to make profoundly philosophical points about theepistemic, existential and political aspects of common sense andscientific knowledge. He writes about ancient and modernrelativism; the authority of science; the ignorance of scientists;the nature of being; and true and false enlightenment. Throughout Three Dialogues on Knowledge is provocative, controversial and inspiring. It is, unlike most currentphilosophical writing, written for readers with a keen sense ofwhat matters and why.
