Bird Springs is about this ten-year-old boy named Gregory. Gregory has a little sister and her name is Jeanine. Gregory's mom is looking for a job to get money for a house to live in.Gregory and his family have to move from the Navajo reservation at Bird Sprigs to a motel in Tucson,Arizona. During the time in Tucson,Arizona Gregory misses his father that is still in Brid Springs. He likes school,he mostly like his art class and the kind teacher Ms.Daniels. Gregory also meets a friend and his name is Matt. Matt can be outspoken.Matt tells Gregory that art clas is art therapy and Gregory lives in a shelter not a motel. Everyday, at school Gregory wonders if his dad is going to come get him to go back to Bird Springs. The kids at school make fun of Gregory because he has long hair and and he is Navajo. The person that runs the motel , Mr.Hass only gives them three stirkes and if they lose those three strikes there out of there. Gregory and his family only lost two strikes. they got the first one by not picking but Jeanine from daycare in time. And the secound stirke they got was by Gregory not getting home in time. At the end of the book Gregory gets a hiarcut and while he is getting his hiarcut he is dreamng of Brids Springs and his dad.
I liked this book because I can relate to the book. For stance im going to be moving to Tucson Arizona. Also, I'm going to be moving to a new school. My dad and mom have to find a job or use to live. My family and I are coming from a different place and we are going to have to abapt to the heat, place and people. I liked the setting and plot. lastly I liked how he meet friends and his teachers are nice. I think it received the rating it did because it was a good book but, i think they can made the ending a likely different. ( )
