Vertigo: Scottie Ferguson, a San Francisco police detective, is forced to retire when a freak accident gives him a severe case of acrophobia. Ferguson is hired by a rich shipbuilder to follow his wife who is behaving suspiciously and might be planning suicide. He falls in love with her, she is later murdered, and Ferguson becomes demonic in his desire to re-create her in another woman. Rear window: A photographer with a broken leg takes up the fine art of spying on his Greenwich Village neighbors during a summer heat wave. He begins to suspect a salesman may have murdered his nagging wife and buried the body in a flower garden. He enlists the help of his girlfriend to investigate the highly suspicious chain of events, leading to one of the most memorable and gripping endings in film history. Harvey: Comedy about a good-natured fellow whose constant companion is a six-foot tall invisible rabbit. His sister is determined to marry her daughter off and decides to commit her brother to a mental hospital to get him out of the way. Due to a mix-up the sister is committed instead, and it is up to the kindly brother and his imaginary friend to straighten things out! Winchester '73: An engaging frontiersman attempts to track down his father's murderer and the whereabouts of his one-of-a-kind rifle, the Winchester '73, as it passes among a rogue's gallery of owners including a crazed highwayman, an immoral gunrunner, a young Indian chief, and Stewart's own murderous brother. Destry rides again: Destry, a mild-mannered deputy who doesn't like guns, is called to restore order to the hopelessly corrupt frontier town of Bottleneck. Though reluctant to undertake such an enormous task, he's soon roped into action after meeting the seductive Frenchy, an alluring saloon girl who captures the hero's heart.… (mehr)
