Ginny Morris and Mom's House, Dad's House is a chapter about Ginny Morris an almost nine-year who is frustrated by having to move back and forth between her parent's house. After her parent's divorce, she struggles with the moving around and is learning how to cope with telling her parents her feelings. Ginny Morris and Mom's House, Dad's House has a few illustrations every chapter. The illustrations are in black and white and have a lot of shading in. Teachers can use this book to teach about coping up with divorce or finding a solution to make things better for students who have divorced parents. My interpretation of this book is that a lot of children struggle with this battle between their parents. It's almost like a pick and choose a system, but Ginny Morris and Mom's House, Dad's House helps find a solution that both parents can do to make things better for their child. Appropriate for ""Tween/Teen"" market. Ginny Morris is in the fourth grade and her parents have been divorced for two years. She goes back and forth between her mother's apartment and her father's house, switching each Sunday (""switch day""). Ginny's character is smart, spunky, and a bit precocious, with a wry sense of humor. Children in shared custody arrangements have to cope with many practical as well as emotional challenges and Ginny confronts and encounters most of them. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
