If David Sarnoff were still alive to peruse this riveting text penned by a former close asscociate, he would be livid.
Still, this book chronicles how this Russian-born Jewish immigrant arrived in the U.S. at nine years of age, and proceeded to create a radio network. Later, he chronicled the development of color TV.
While the book highlights his accomplishments, it also casts an unflattering spotlight on his blemishes. The tome only proves that life isn't always telecast in technicolor. On some occasions, a biography is best filmed in a filter that conveys a distinct shade of gray. ( )
