Loved the interaction between the two main characters, Angela and Phillippe, who become "best" friends. When Angela inherits a home in Nantucket from a grandmother she never knew about, life changes for her. How this happens and what she encounters is an easy to read, enduring storyline. Kudos to Pamela M. Kelley, who has an amazing writing style that I love to read! ( ) Angela Stark is down on her luck. She’s behind on rent for her apartment in San Francisco, her roommate bails on her, she can’t get hired in her field, and she’s facing an eviction. So when she gets the news that a grandmother she never knew about has left her a multi-million dollar house in Nantucket, along with a sizeable bank account, it’s a Christmas miracle. She immediately travels to Nantucket along with her cat. When she gets there, she immediate meets people who take her into their friend group and she’s able to find work cleaning houses. She makes friends with a local writer, Felipe, who is also a lover of cats. This is a cute novella length read that follows a Hallmark-esque plotline. If you enjoy those movies and themes (I love them!), this is the sort of book for you! This lovely Christmas romance is a quick read. It centers on a new character to the series, Angela. She inherits her grandmother’s home in Nantucket, and plans on repairing the house and selling it. She didn’t plan on falling in love with the area, or making so many new friends. She will have to make a life-changing decision, whether to return to San Francisco and her life there, or remain in Nantucket. There are also some changes in the lives of a couple of the main characters, and I suspect readers will learn more about them in future books. This was mostly a happy and light-hearted tale, but there was a dark cloud hovering over one particular character. Still, it’s a good choice for a happy Christmas story. Visit Nantucket's Beach Plum Cove Inn this Christmas for a feel-good holiday story from the author of the USA Today bestsellers, The Nantucket Inn and Nantucket Neighbors. Born on Christmas, Angela Stark has always hated the holiday. Bad things always seem to happen and this year is no exception when she is fired and evicted on the first day of December. She was living and working as a maid in San Francisco. Who will hire her at this time of year, especially if they learn why she was fired? Her only family is Sam, an elderly, and quite vocal orange cat. Her only option is to stay temporarily with her best friend Jane, but she is extremely allergic to cats. It's not ideal, but it doesn't look like she has a choice, until a certified letter arrives that changes everything. The next thing she knows, she and Sam are flying to Nantucket, a place they've never been before. It's meant to be a temporary visit. But then Angela meets the Hodges family and friends and begins to question where home really is. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
