Excellent recipes intertwined with educational snippets about the ingredients, dishes, techniques, and culture involved. The traditional Korean recipes are adapted to the average American kitchen, with notes for those with access to either a Korean market or a general Asian grocery in mind to return it to more authentic flavors. Particularly helpful for me as someone who knows some Korean was the additional inclusion of the proper Korean names not only of dishes but of ingredients as well. ( ) This is a cookbook/storybook - Cecilia share stories on her recipes and her family throughout the book and even adds pictures with the stories. The recipes are simple, not many picture of the food but easy to do recipes. I suggest this for a beginner trying to cook Korean food for the first time.
