Not sure why it says this is book 1 when it is the 2nd book in the Fisher Village series. I love this series, but this one just didn't hit the right chord with me. One of the cases Patty was working on in book 1 is the focal point of this book. A couple has gone missing and the woman's father has asked Patricia to find them. Patricia and another investigator Tempest join forces to solve this mystery.
A cult is involved and Patty and crew have to infiltrate to save some women from being sacrificed.
There is some humor to the book which helps it along. Patty does meet the Lord Mayer of a town who takes a liking to Patty. ( )
