Fairly sweet romance. He was pretty convinced she loved him and would eventually marry him. I liked his determination to have her at all costs. I didn't like though that he didn't seem to really be hearing what she was telling him. I guess though that was the way this character was. He was so determined to marry her that he couldn't see that maybe he just needed to step back for a moment and let her stand on her own feet for a while just to prove to herself that she could. Also she kept insisting that he didn't love her and he couldn't hear that what she needed was him to prove that he loved her in a romantic way and not just as a habit he had of taking care of her. I guess then he was written fairly well as an oblivious man. I liked her and how she was pretty honest with herself about the progression of her feelings.

Short and sweet and hit the spot for a light easy read. ( )

This audio book was not good. A romance novel that contained almost no romance. 5 hours of "blah". The whole book is "are they going to get married or not" well the title of the book gave away the ending to the book.

Entirely unbelievable. Long term fiancé falls in love with lady whose car broke down in town and the fiancé encourages them to get married. Then she is distraught but her long term friend and father's ranch hand supports her at her previous fiancé's wedding. Now the whole town is sure they are going to get married and the feed store is taking bets on when.

Dumb, small town Christian novel. But its not even marketed as Christian fiction so I have no clue how it made the New York Times best seller list. ( )

In Macomber’s romance novel, Kate Logan is devastated when the man she loves breaks their engagement and marries Rorie Campbell. Drowning her sorrows in champagne, she vigorously throws herself at Luke Rivers and proposes—to him! Once sober, Kate is horrified at her actions and sheepishly insists Luke disregard her request. To her surprise, he refuses to break their “engagement” and insists that she loves him. What follows is a dance that neither can walk away from.

As always, Macomber has spun an engaging tale. ( )

Kate Logan, a school teacher, is going through alot of changes in her life causing emotional stress. She watched the love of her life, her ex-fiance Clay, marry another woman. Right after that her father, Devin, announces his engagement and that he will be selling the family ranch, The Circle L. Luke Rivers has been the ranch foreman for the past 10 years. He becomes Kate's best friend, being there for support through all the emotional stress of Kate and Clay's broken engagement. During Clay's wedding reception Kate foolishly asks Luke to marry her. She knows she made a mistake but Luke refuses to let her re neg on her proposal. Luke claims that Kate needs him and loves him though she does not know it yet. Kate still being in love with Clay and only has feelings for Luke as a sister has for a brother refuses to just settle and marry him as every one thinks she should. A charming tale of finding true love and keeping it. ( )
