There was a lot to unpack in this story, and I think it made it a little too complex for me. Thorne was a sweet character but then he was a complete jerk and then he’s sweet again. His personality was too wishy washy. Linton was a sweet character who got thrown for a loop because of his brother’s addiction and a jerk boss. I felt like they were great together when they were, but there was something missing that I don’t know how to describe. Even though Linton did wrong in parts, I felt like he was almost too forgiving of a guy with how he was treated all around. By the epilogue, I wished I had a little more to go on to know how we got to the point of forgiveness for some characters and overall future planning.

I’ve loved Barbara Elsborg’s books in the past, so this definitely isn’t a reflection on her writing. I just couldn’t get into the characters and story here.
