This math book is about the two girls’ soccer teams and what they did during the championship game. This book introduces weeks and hours to teach time measurement. In the match there is an explanation of quarter hours which coincide with the period of play. In every page, the scoreboard is shown and has a countdown. The analog clock on the refreshment stands fives the time of day. The wonderful color that used to draw the actions in the game can teach children math in very simple and fun way. The drawing in this book will help students to keep an eye on the clock as the Huskies and Falcons gear up for their championship soccer match and learn about weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds as they read. This book can encourages children to see the fun in math. In the last pages, there are an excellent math exercise that the teacher can do with her/his students. ( )

This is a fun book on learning about time. The illustrator does a great job of using the illustrations to show the author's words. The illustrations let the reader see what the author is saying and extends the words in a way that a young reader can use their background knowledge to understand the story. Many children play sports so they understand the story line and get to learn about time while reading. The author includes a section for adults and kids at the end that explains how the adult can help the child to learn more about time with the book and other activities at home. The author also included a list of additional books from different authors that include some of the same concepts presented in the book.

The book included diversity since a character looks like they have Hispanic decent and is named Maria. There is also a character that appears to be African American and another character has glasses.

The inside back cover includes short biographies on the author and illustrator.

Overall, this is a great book and I can't wait to read it to my students when we start learning about time. ( )

This book is about 2 teams (falcons and huskies) that are playing each other in the championship soccer game. Throughout the book every page has a count down until either the game starts or half time or the end of the game. The book teaches children how many minutes are in an hour, how many hours are in a day, how many seconds are in one minute etc. Previous years the Falcons always win but in the end of the book you'll find that the huskies win the game with only seconds left on the clock.
