Grace Pierrepoint Rendell is the only child of an elderly billionaire. She has also been treated for paranoia since she was child. That hasn't stopped her from getting married and having children of her own. After she decided to secretly stop taking her meds she begins to suspect that her husband is planning to murder her for her inheritance after her father dies. Grace knows that no one will believe her due to her mental health issues. So she comes up with a plan. With the help of famous mystery writer Lynn Andrews, Grace plans on writing a book about a women in exactly the same circumstances as her. That way her husband can't follow through on his plans without implicating himself. But when Lynn is murdered, Grace is discovered standing over her body by Lynn's brother, Hack. With the help of some new friends it is up to grace to solve the murder and complete her book before she is accused of murder or worse, murdered herself.

This book was engaging and entertaining. Well I was able to guess the book's ending early on, I still enjoyed this story. ( )

I loved this book. Needless to say, I was rooting for Grace right from the beginning. Even though I guessed quite early in the book who the real culprit was, I enjoyed the ride thoroughly. So much that I started embedding this plot into some movies that I watched later (which would have been better if they had included a plot on these lines). I loved the main characters, Grace and Andrea as well. At one point in the book, the focus shifted to Hack and it just felt a little too much of a side plot, though, I agree he had an important part to play. And, I did like some of his friends. The introduction of Zev into the mix made it interesting, with his resourcefulness. I liked the ending as well. ( )

Overall, this was a great read! I was pulled in to the plot and truly wanted to know how it ended. I found the plight of the protagonist believable, although some secondary characters were a bit too embellished.

Saving grace by D.M.Barr is a psychological thriller which is a story of Grace Pierrepoint Rendell, who has been under psychiatric care for more than 40 years. What happens when she wishes for freedom and fights the oppression she has been facing all her life?

Grace is an accountant and has been living a monotonous life taking care of her two sons and her husband Eliot. She has been under meds for far too long than she remembers. Whenever she wishes for a bit of excitement in her life, she has been termed as overreacting or disillusioned and needs to be taken care of.

She finally manages to escape her boring life when she joins a women’s writing group and decided to write a novel which will really be her slightly disguised autobiography.

There are murders, deceits, and family secrets that are to be uncovered, but there is also love, passion, and trust growing between the characters. There is a whole bunch of characters that are unique and own special stories. Stories that make grace realized that her problems are nothing compared to the enormity of struggles some individuals face.

I loved how there was a mention of the struggles faced by the LGBTQ community. Apart from the main story author also brought some issues to light.

Overall the writing style, character development were on point. The storyline was well woven and the ending was something I really appreciated. ( )
