I have done several of Shirer's Bible studies with various church groups, and this one is just as good as the others. I did not know much about Elijah and had definitely not delved into his life deeply. This study changed that. The struggles he faced and how they were handled can be inspirational and comforting for anyone. The lessons discussed also were timely in that they helped center my thoughts on the upcoming split of the United Methodist Church. Shirer is a dynamic speaker. If you choose to look at this book, renting the videos that go with them is recommended. I've always done her studies in a group, but they can be completed on your own.
