Russell Hoban does not fail to create an interesting and creative book. This is a "see-the story" book. It has no sentences, but has words next to the things on the pages for vocabulary purposes. As you "read," you follow the crocodile and a clown as the clown steals the crocodile's doll as he sleeps in the park. The crocodile chases the clown through the town and in the end, the two become friends. It is an interesting book to say the least. I did not enjoy it very much, but I can see how children may enjoy it very much. ( )
