Arnaldur Indriðasons Schreibstil ist detailliert und gut zu lesen. Aber die Geschichte ist nicht so spannend, wie ich das erwartet habe. Beeindruckend finde ich allerdings die Beschreibung der Landschaft.
Die Charaktere sind gut und authentisch dargestellt. Konráð ist eigentlich froh, dass er nicht mehr ermitteln muss. Nach dem Tod seiner Frau führt er ein ruhiges Leben. Doch da ist dieser Fall, den er nicht klären konnte. Also macht er sich doch an die Ermittlungen, auch wenn das den Polizisten, die zuständig sind, nicht gefällt.
Es ist eine sehr ruhige Handlung ohne große Spannungsmomente. Dazu gibt es einige Nebenstränge, die nicht unbedingt alle die Bedeutung für diesen Fall haben.
Wer viel Spannung erwartet, ist bei diesem Buch falsch. Mir hat es aber trotzdem gefallen. ( )
