This book spends a lot of time on the mainland, on a cross country road trip and despite not having the darling townsfolk so involved in the second/first chance love story, it worked. Rafe, the angry and breeding Goodman brother's time is up. Time to come to terms with the anger, hurt and loss of his unrequited Love who left him behind to go be a rock star. Jay is living the dream. Until he isn't. He has his whole world coming apart at the seams and feels helpless, alone, yet determined to right it (all of it), by sheer will and force if necessary...if force is using his rock star status and money. But life has a way of throwing things together that seem hard and impossible to deal with or even contemplate overcoming or solving, and Rafe and Jay's working life, family life, and love life are about to collide and there will be sparks. I just love the crazies who live in Whispering Key and the sewage spill was hilarious. I can’t wait to read Gage’s story next, he’s far too full of himself and needs someone to come along and unexpectedly sweep him off his feet. ( ) This was a great road trip which was needed to get these two away from the key for a bit. It’s interesting because even with some backstory, I still had to work at figuring out some of their past. But once Jay and Rafe stopped with the angsting, this was pretty perfect and just a short jump to their HEA as they were both all in together. 4.5 stars, rounding up rather than down: this one started out not great for me, because it hinges on neither idiot risking anything. But that starts changing in the third chapter, and by the middle they'd entirely endeared themselves to me. It's every bit as goofy as any other book in this series and the O'Leary series, but the title means more than one thing. And I'm appreciating how the author has woven all these stories together. Not many authors have a talent for managing so many characters; Amy Lane's the only other one who does it at a level I admire and envy. At the end of this book is a pre-order link to Gage's story, out in August I think, and I will certainly be reading it. Gage as the youngest is also the snarkiest, and possibly the smartest of the bunch. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
