I was so excited about this new Courtney Crumrin spin-off, but it could have used more Courtney. I loved the way The Final Spell ended, and I was looking forward to seeing Courtney and Will together, but there wasn’t as much interaction as I would have liked. It seems she’s stepped into Uncle A’s role, without learning from any of his mistakes. I don’t understand why she let Will misuse the charm for so long before stepping in. It doesn’t make sense. There’s another one coming later in the year, so maybe that will fill in some of the blanks. The artwork is as lovely as ever. ( )
