I rated this first one 3 stars but the series overall doesn't deserve any more than an average 2 stars.
Initially, this isn't too obvious but the further the story progresses the more blatantly the author just makes shit up on the spot. She just invents rules and abilities constantly. The most frustrating part with this is that all this stuff isn't even needed for the story to work. It is all made up without any thought of consistency or the ramifications of it all just because she felt like that would be a cool thing to add I guess. The author even goes so far as to change the core ability of the MC between the first and the second book without explanation.
This is a brainstorming playground and not a book series.

Later on, the books descend into utterly clichéed wish-fulfillment hell to an intolerable degree and it stays there. It's not some second-book syndrome.

I think the one thing that kept me reading this far into the series which also skewed my initial judgment is the enormous angst and sexual tension between the two main characters. It technically is an enemies-to-lovers setup but it never felt like it. They just keep struggling against their mutual attraction for various more or less stupid reasons.

The sad thing is that as with the romantic tension, there are a few other building blocks that really captivated me because they were executed very well.
To me, it feels like the author had something good going on here but threw it all away because she couldn't be bothered to think about this stuff for just a second and just went with her gut on everything without any higher-order thinking considerations whatsoever. ( )

Did not finish.

Started off well, but more and more supernatural types were thrown into the mix until it strained credibility too much, especially when you added in the concept of them all living together in one magically hidden town. ( )

Savannah gets thrown into the deep end of the Magica world when she is suddenly attacked by two wolves and that sends her on the run to Chicago especially when she thinks some shadow agency-MiBesque group of agents are trying to corner her. She seems to run purely on her instincts and that definitely lands her in more trouble than anything else but even then she manages to get out of it and survive. She's scrappy that way. And this leads her to Magic Side which happens to be the heart of where all the trouble chasing her, resides.

Ok, these wolves are pretty crazy and quite wild but the rest of the Magica are just as out of control. A host of new beings soon become her new reality and she discovers that she belongs to the notoriously hated LaSalle clan. That does not help matters either because her protector Jaxson Laurent is the alpha of the Magic Side wolves and he just hates the LaSalles. SO now you can expect a lot of fireworks between the two and explosions in general because the villains are a nasty bunch. I must give an honorable mention to wolfsbane because there's just so much of it in the book. You'll just have to read it to soo how it comes into play.
