This was an easy book to read.  It is only a small book, but still managed to fit a lot of information in, and I learnt a lot from it.  I was especially happy to see the Myer-Briggs advice added, as learning my type gave me a lot of insight to my behaviours.  I highly recommend this book as a cover-all self-help for the helpless.

Self-Help for the Helpless

I appreciate the pdf copy of Self Help for the Helpless, but I think it was written more for a young college student, other than a getting older single Mother. The book has a lot of creative words that are inspiring to read, like a self-help book you might check out in college, but not much self-help for someone like me. The words of charm for young women with no responsibilities are more hurtful to read, than inspiring to read for a Mother with bills, student loans, and adult children. The inner child has sailed away, and I am not in the boat. I don’t want to be lost at sea, or go sailing alone, but as in many things in life, I must do them alone if I want to go anywhere. I guess I need a real-life navigator, finding a job, a new home, a husband, more than inspiring words, and those people are hard to find for a woman feeling alone and helpless. But the writer's words are inspiring, and they flow so nicely, yet the book isn’t going to help me, but I thank you for it.
