After Abriella's sister was sold to the fae, she thought life couldn't get any worse. But when she suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies of her own making, loving two princes and trusting neither, things are not quite as clear as she once thought. As civil war wages in the Court of Darkness, Brie finds herself unable to choose a side. How can she know where she stands when she doesn't even know herself anymore? In this darkly romantic thrill ride, the more Faerie is torn apart from the inside, the clearer it becomes that prophecies don't lie and Brie has a role to play in the fate of this magical realm, whether she likes it or not.… (mehr)

I enjoyed this sequel!! I think it played to much into older ya troupes to be very unique and different!!! I think for a romantic lead fantsay it still enjoyed it. I think this was a fun read and i really liked the fae based world and it was quick listen!! This book did not wow me but it was fun read! ( )

I still liked it, and parts I really liked, but the near-constant internal monologues full of self-loathing and self-pity were too much for me. This time, the similarities with other books (such as a certain series by Sarah J. Maas) started to grate a bit too. I mean, I'd be torn between Finnian and Ronan/Sebastian too, but there's only so much angst I can take. Abriella's "specialness" lost me too - I predicted her being one of Mab's descendants very early on and that annoys me to no end.
The rushed ending and brief epilogue left me wanting more too... I'm honestly surprised that this was only a duology. I don't regret reading either book, but I'm just a bit disappointed with how things played out. Much as I appreciate Finn, Sebastian definitely got the short end of the straw in this book. ( )

I read the first book a while ago and just found it okay (ACOTR-lite). I think the fact that it was advertised as a duology had me preordering the next book, or I just lost my mind, but here we are. Brie and Sebastien are bonded, but she's pretty much over him. Finn is still in the picture (I hate this trope), but she needs to figure out how to fix the Unseelie Court.
What follows is a series of attacks, kidnappings, events, etc., each one of which is conveniently solved by some hitherto-unknown magic or ability. This just isn't my cup of tea. I found it poorly written with bland characters. ( )

OMG!!!!!! I loved this duology SO MUCH! Both books were page turners with amazing twists, so much revenge, characters who are shady as shit, and a delicious love triangle (if you’re into that—which, hello, I totally am). Stop what you’re reading and get these books. ( )
