They flip and zip and swing into the Milky Way. Once the race is over, they throw a party and celebrate.

Personal Reaction: This is a great book to read to young children who are interested in science. The pictures are very colorful and show different planets that they raced by. It creates a feeling of excitement as the young human races with the funny monsters.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
A. This would be a great book to read while students learned about the Milky Way and planets. I would show them the different colored planets and/or a video of the great atmosphere in outer space.
B. Another idea would be to draw and color a spaceship that they would use if they were like the boy in the story and had a race in outer space. They could talk about all the cool and special gadgets that their spaceship would have. ( )
