Another great book by Amanda Cabot! I loved the setting and the characters.
Alexandra is afraid for her life because she turned down a suitor. She flees to Texas in search of her father. She soon makes a wonderful life for herself despite her father wanting her to return to New York.
Gabe has been hired to find a man who has swindled his client. His search leads him to Mesquite Springs. Once there he meets Alexandra and finds himself falling for her. Unfortunately, the man he's searching for turns out to be Alexandra's father.
There is so much more going on in this book, it really keeps you going. Read it, you won't be disappointed! ( )

I received this book from librarything.com early member giveaway for a honest review. This is my own opinion about the book. In my opinion you need to read the first two books before you read this book. I like this book. The characters are okay. There will be characters that is in the first two books. I did enjoy the plot of the story. ( )

The plot and characters were well-rounded and as the plot kept developing I found myself more intrigued as to where it was headed. The author did a good job with the unknown on how relationships were or weren't developing. I enjoyed the historical feel of it too during a time and setting I normally don't read.

I am a huge fan of “western” or “older historic” type books so I was initially drawn towards this book. I enjoyed, while reading, that I was questioning what was going to happen, not just with the developing relationship with the MC, but also the plot twists and suspense. I would recommend for any fans if you want to be thrown back in time (setting) with a book that has romance and keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. ( )
