The Me You Love In The Dark, is a beautiful, dark, and disturbing story of discovery, love, and terror about an artist named Ro purchasing a haunted house to work on her next series of paintings. The house is truly haunted however, by a possessive demon. Like Skottie Young and Jorge Corona's previous collaboration this is about an abusive relationship, mixed this time with fantasy-horror instead of fantasy-adventure. In many ways, this is a story of possession, but not in the typical horror sense. The domestic drama is the truly frightening feature of this story, as RO's muse turns out to be an abusive and controlling lover from the beyond.

Sure, this story isn't subtle but it worked. And the art - the color and linework by Jorge Corona - was simply astounding. It's both expressive, and creepy, and a joy to behold.

For fans of Stephen King and Neil Gaiman. ( )

It’s a very straightforward plot that doesn’t offer much in the way of twists or innovation, but it’s still a solid story. Very moody and Neil Gaiman, which is a huge plus for me. And I loved the art, especially of the “me in the dark”. Overall I enjoyed it, even if it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. ( )

An artist seeking inspiration rents out a haunted house.

Very moody, paced like a good horror movie ( )

It was okay. Woman moves into a supposedly haunted house to paint and then falls in love with… whatever it is. Nothing spooky. You don’t get any information about the ghost, no name or anything. How the hell you have sex with a ghost? No idea. That was probably the most interesting thing.

The art was pretty. ( )
