The sequel to The Archived wasn't as good as the first book. There is just a bit too much angsty inner dialogue that made the book feel draggy. That said, the plot and twists were still good. Mackenzie and Roland's relationship was my favourite bit, very Buffy and Giles. If the third book is ever published, I'd still read it despite the 3 stars rating. ( )

I enjoyed the second one of these a litle bit more than the first. And what a lovely surprise for a character to go to school and for her peers to be nice. I thought all US schools were full of sociopaths and psychopaths! A non repeat of the trope gets a big tick from me. It is YA but not as superficial as that label can be. ( )
