Over the Edge was researched tremendously in hallucinogen drugs and their effects on humans, investing and Schizophrenia. The book kept the readers guessing until the end as to whodunit and why. The story is very elaborate. Five stars were given in this review because of the complexity of the plot. The book is highly recommended. ( )

I am maybe a quarter of the way through now. One thing that stands out is the amount of homophobia and negative comments about gay people. Calling them "deviant." It definitely dates the book.

Ok, I have finished the book. Just like [b:Blood Test|172912|Blood Test (Alex Delaware, #2)|Jonathan Kellerman|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1341254576s/172912.jpg|2423928], this book becomes overly complicated. The plot seems to have been hatched by a criminal mastermind. It all comes together in the end but for awhile the plot about the prostitute murders seems to get lost as it becomes all about Jamey and his psychiatric struggles. There is a lot of psychological discussion which I felt was interesting and well written. ( )

The plot took a turn that I did not expect. I like when a book makes me think and this one did. ( )
