Many clickbait headlines about whether it holds up? There's the usual guns, dicks, quips, and heavy emotional shits I read the first three volumes years ago, and re-read them and devoured everything else in the last few days, and to me this seems like business as usual. Heart stomping, mind blowing, complicated feelings about complex characters having, eye piss inducing business as usual. Having somone in a desperate situation do something from the Nestlé paybook, albeit on a infinitesimal scale, as the only way to provide essential care for a vulnerable person breaks my autistic mind, but that's Saga being Saga and not giving a fuck. I adore this series and I don't feel like it's lost any of the shine. It's now well over a month until volume 11 drops. I'm going to lose my mind!!! Saga is back! It's been what, three years I think since volume nine? I usually read it in the form of the huge hardcover omnibus volumes, but I am glad to have this little taster of what is to come. It's been a while, so my memory on many story points is murky, but I still enjoyed this a lot. Good character work, decent twists, and as always amazing art from Fiona Staples. Not so sure about the villain who speaks like a Twitter conservative. https://fromtheheartofeurope.eu/saga-vol-10-by-fiona-staples-and-brian-k-vaughan... After the brutal end to volume 9, and the subsequent three-year pause in publication, I wondered how the authors would manage to pick it up. I need not have worried; time has passed for the main characters as well, and we see a lot of the story from the viewpoint of Hazel, the little girl whose parents have been at the centre of Saga up to now. Lots here about smuggling, blended families, evil galactic plots and so on. Ends yet again on a cliff-hanger. I’ll give this a high vote, but not sure how it would appeal to those who have not read the previous nine volumes. (Six of which were Hugo finalists, the first winning in 2013.) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

It had been so long since the last volume, and things had been left in such a sad state for so long. Yet future-Hazel has been narrating all along with this kind of hope? optimism? something to indicate that while tragic things had happened to her, she had been loved and felt safe and grown and ended up in a good place.
So I wanted this to be the start of the path to healing, I guess?
It's not like I expected it to be easy! Or bloodless! Or not to have a cost, or to deal with grief!
But that ending broke me, and I think I am done with this series. ( )
