Alix is a great character! She's strong, smart and good at what she does! I liked the emphasis on the Dior aspect. I just watched "Mrs Harris goes to Paris", so I enjoyed reading about fashion. There is some mild swearing and a love scene that's not too graphic. Natasha Lester has become one of my favorite authors. This book is about post-WWII Paris, the world of rich, glamorous women, as well as the plight of the everyday working girl. (It wasn't always this easy for us ladies.) Her prose runs through the gamut of emotions, heart-wrenching and joyous. The storyline is captivating, intriguing, realistic, and all-consuming. The characters are three-dimensional, with all the scars that come from living. But the resilience of their spirits comes through spectacularly in the dialogue, wit, and humor on every page. This book is tragic, romantic, inspirational, and world-building. I am ready for her next one. *I received this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.* The worlds of high fashion and World War II spies are combined in this novel, which makes for compelling reading. The heroine Alix St. Pierre is working for Christian Dior in postwar Paris when her secretive work during the war comes back to haunt her. She joins forces with one Anthony March, who has his own secrets and might be a love interest if they can manage to not run afoul of a former Nazi. An interesting read and recommended for fans of WWII-era historical fiction. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
