This book is very interesting and has a twisting story. I can't say much else besides that. 4Q4P The cover art is okay and I'd recommend this to high school students and adults. I chose to read this book because I had to find one to read for a book report. ZachB

While running late to class one day, high school senior Chris finds a wallet on the ground. The wallet belongs to a man named Andrew Ashbury who seems to have it all. The man who owns the wallet looks a lot like Chris, same height, same weight, and blue eyed. With an angry stepdad at home and trouble at school, Chris decides that switching identities and becoming Andrew Ashbury might just be his ticket to success and a better life. This book is a “hi-lo” book (high interest level-low reading level) intended for teens who do not read well or who read below grade level, but don’t want to read books that are childish or intended for young readers. The book has short chapters, fairly simple vocabulary, and an engrossing plot. Teens might be drawn to the gritty, urban tone of the book as well. However, the ending is jarring, abrupt, and unsatisfying so readers who prefer nicely wrapped up endings may not enjoy this book. ( )

A distinctly urban book, "I.D." begins with a wallet in the sidewalk and the teen who picked it up. The book goes through his mental process about what to do with the wallet. The main character is in a bad family, and is doing poorly in school-in fact, if he messes up again, he will be expelled. Large print and short chapters make this an easy reader for a struggling teen. The storyline, however, would not appeal to teens outside of a heavily urban environment. Not Recommended. Young Adult. After I read this book, "The I.D.," I thought this book was interesting! Its about a boy who had found someone's wallet that the person who owned the wallet, didn't even come to search for it. Christopher Bent , who was the boy, had kept the wallet started searching for that person who had lost their wallet....the rest can be read by you. This short chapter book had bits of suspense, adventure and drama, as I was reading and picturing how the story went. This book could be recommended for ages 12 and over. If you read this book, you will know what I mean in my review. (; ( )

…a high-quality story for reluctant readers – fast-paced, heart-thumping…A definite recommendation for reluctant readers.

Vicki Grant's fast-paced novella for reluctant-reader teens raises great points about ethics and how they crumble…What a rush of a read!
