Definitely something to work on during the holidays when I am on break. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book as part of an early review program. This book is a straightforward introduction to calligraphy. It covers a basic broad overview of materials, techniques, and styles of calligraphy. It reads somewhat like a textbook for an introductory calligraphy class might, but its descriptions are clear and easy to follow. Overall, I would recommend to someone looking to pick up calligraphy as a hobby.Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. A good introduction for someone interested in the Art of Calligraphy. Covers the history of calligraphy, the supplies, setting up your work station and the basic strokes of used in creating beautiful Calligraphy. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. There is a certain dichotomy in this book. First of all, you would imagine it would teach you how to do calligraphy. It does, but not really until about the middle of the "book". Up to that point seems to offer a lot of zen qualities of calligraphy, the history of calligraphy, how wonderful you'll feel doing calligraphy. The best information in the book seems to be the links to other websites that offer tutorials on how to do calligraphy. I state "book" since it is extremely brief, which seems contradictory. Each "page" has about two paragraphs, like it is getting stretched out to look like it might almost be a book. It's more of a pamphlet. I had a difficult time reading through since much of it seemed to be something that was translated from speech, and poorly edited. A real editor would have changed the difficult to follow sentences with their meandering text. I'm sure there's a better way to learn calligraphy.keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
