He tells his-story as it is, no suddenly saving his characters, just like an imparcial, unfeeling judge. In the first collection of stories, "Los Jefes", there is always some mischievous twist. Only one of them has what we consider a 'happy ending', but all are beautifully written. The second part "Los cachorros" is longer and what I really liked about it is the writing style. The narrator is a mixture between first person and omnipresent, changing the closeness the reader feels towards characters. Also how he 'transcribes' the conversation is pure genius. One can actually feel how they talk, question, answer, interrupt; the rhythm of the conversation. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

In "The Chiefs and The Cubs," tyranny and violence depict a society in which one cannot let down the expectations of others. With an exceptional narrative talent, the world that the author gives life to is just a sample of the diversity of others and his personal passions. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
