None of This is True is a fast-paced, easy read that keeps you glued to the pages. When Alix randomly meets a woman at a same restaurant, the podcaster, mother of two, wife of successful real estate agent, has no idea what she’s in for when the other woman says, “Hi. I’m your birthday twin.” Alix agrees to interview Josie, the odd woman from the restaurant, and is told a story so detailed, so salacious that Alix is dumbfounded, energized, and a bit worried. As the days go and Josie’s tale grows bigger to encompass how her husband, 27-years her senior, groomed her and is possibly doing the same to others, Alix is unsure where to turn. Doing her due diligence, Alix speaks to Josie husband, her mother, and others who know the woman, and suddenly, Alix’s previous spidy senses are coming clear. Filled with perception driven truths and narratives altered to fit the need, the title says it all: None of this is True. None for her layered, twisty plots, Lisa Jewell has definitely hit the mark with this one. While you will see it coming, as Jewell is intentionally not hiding ‘it’ from you, you won’t see the why until it hits you. None of this is True by Lisa Jewell is a wonderful thriller which shakes you to the core. The plot is fast and gripping right from the start. As an audiobook, the story gives you all the chills needed to feel the story and its characters. The narrators have done a wonderful job and their voice created a dark atmosphere. Josie's character was the most dangerous one and the author has done a wonderful job portraying her. An absolute page turner, the book is a masterpiece for thriller lovers. Although, the climax ends with a cliffhanger but it was justifiable. Not every story has a perfect ending. To enjoy the story you need to dive deeper in the thought process of human minds. It was really an enjoyable read, Definitely, the book deserves 5 stars. I understand why people like it so much. It's a fascinating concept for a book and the author does a really good job capturing the characters and their motives, I think. The pacing was just a bit slow for me and I couldn't get myself particularly invested in it. It was worth reading, though, even if I struggled a bit at the beginning. Honestly only rated so low because of the keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
