This book was really good it had a "Starwars" vibe to it with romance and spice.

The Princess and the Bruiser is not your typical alien story. Aurora has to marry the Prince but finds herself more attractive to his bodyguard. The fact that both main characters are aliens makes this novel an interesting read. The characters are strong and well developed, the storyline is engaging enough. The world building is lavishly created and altogether it makes a really great book. ( )

The Princess and the Bruiser is a novel that tells
the story of a young woman named Aurora who
is forced to marry a prince in order to save her
kingdom. However, she soon realizes that her
new husband is not the person she thought he
was, and she finds herself drawn to the prince's
bodyguard, a tough and brooding man named
Damon.

The book is a mix of romance and her kingdom
. However, she has a secret past as a skilled fighter
and decides to train with the kingdom's champion,
Jasper, to prepare for any dangers she may face.
As they spend time together, Aurora and Jasper
develop feelings for each other, but they must
navigate their different social statuses and the
pressures of their respective roles.
Jess K. Hardy does an excellent job of developing the characters and their relationships. Aurora is a strong and independent heroine who defies expectations and refuses to be limited by her gender or societal norms. Jasper, on the other hand, is a loyal and honourable warrior who is torn Between his duty to his kingdom and his growing love for Aurora. The writing style is engaging and descriptive painting a vivid picture of the world and its inhabitants. The action scenes are particularly well-done, with detailed combat sequences that are easy to follow and understand. One potential drawback of the book is that the plot may be somewhat predictable, with many of the expected tropes of the genre present. That being said, the strong character development and engaging writing make up for any shortcomings in the plot.
Overall, The Princess and the Bruiser is a
delightful read for fans of fantasy romance. It has vell-developed characters, exciting action scenes and a satisfying love story. Jess K. Hardy has created a world that readers will enjoy escaping nto and characters they will root for until the very end.

I was really not in the mood for this book, so I kept putting it down. And then I'd realize I really wanted to know what happened to these people, so I'd pick it up again. Interesting setting, very interesting characters (very rich in many ways - protagonists and secondary characters alike), enjoyable romance. I particularly liked that while physical attraction played a part, it didn't take center stage as it does far too often. They had other reasons for attraction, and other reasons not to act on it. Her powers were fascinating, and I suspect there's a lot more to it than she knows. I would very much like to read other stories in this world (universe), and see Rax and Clara again (and Mal, and what's up with Morg, and...). It's not a standard series romance, where you can see the next book telegraphed - aside from possibly Morg, I didn't see any other romances developing. But there could be excellent stories here without the romantic plot - the universe and the characters are rich and complex enough to support a story without that prop. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. It does not have the typical human female abducted by an alien that is typical of this genre. The 2 main characters are aliens and are well developed. The plot flows smoothly and keeps the reader involved. A well written and enjoyable read. ( )
